TermPilot Terms of Service
These terms govern your use of the TermPilot extension, the termpilot.top website, and the membership subscription. Please read them before subscribing.
Effective date: September 23, 2026
1. The service and these terms
TermPilot is a browser extension and website that translates, explains, summarizes, and annotates web content, and helps you collect and review vocabulary. By installing the extension, using the website, or purchasing a subscription you accept these terms.
The service is provided by an independent individual operator (sole proprietor) trading under the TermPilot brand ("we", "us"), reachable at xiexuanzheng602@gmail.com. If you do not agree with these terms, stop using the service and cancel any subscription.
2. Accounts and eligibility
You may sign in with Google or an email verification code. You are responsible for keeping your account access secure and for activity under your account.
The service is intended for users aged 16 and above. Minors may use it only with the consent of a parent or legal guardian.
One person may hold one account for personal use. Creating multiple accounts to obtain extra free Credits is not permitted, and we may adjust Credits or suspend accounts that do so.
3. Direct mode and official Credits
In direct (BYOK) mode you configure your own model provider and API key. Requests go directly from the extension to your provider. Your usage is subject to the provider terms, quotas, and billing, and consumes no TermPilot Credits.
In official Credits mode, tasks are processed through the TermPilot API using Credits. Credits are an internal unit of measurement for service usage only: they have no cash value, cannot be withdrawn, transferred, or exchanged, and are not a stored-value or prepayment instrument.
Sign-in Credits and membership Credits are tracked separately. Unused sign-in Credits are not cleared when a membership period renews.
4. Membership subscription, billing, and renewal
Payments are processed by Paddle.com Market Ltd. ("Paddle") as merchant of record. Paddle handles payment, tax invoicing, and receipts under its own terms and privacy policy; we do not collect or store card numbers.
Subscriptions renew automatically at the displayed price for each billing period until you cancel in the billing portal. You can cancel at any time; membership benefits continue until the end of the paid period.
Displayed prices include estimated tax where applicable. The final price and billing interval for a new checkout or a plan change are shown before you confirm it. You may cancel future renewals in the billing portal.
Monthly and yearly plans grant a Credits allowance for each membership month. Unused membership Credits expire when the next membership month begins.
5. Refunds and chargebacks
Because membership provides digital content that is consumed immediately, Fees are non-refundable once Credits have been consumed, except where a refund is required by applicable law.
You may ask Paddle for a discretionary refund within 14 days of the charge. Usage or consumption may affect Paddle’s decision; this does not limit any statutory withdrawal or refund right.
If a refund or chargeback is approved, the membership ends immediately, remaining unused membership Credits are removed, and renewal billing stops. A new checkout may be temporarily unavailable for up to 90 days after a payment dispute or chargeback, or where reasonably necessary to investigate suspected payment abuse. This does not limit any statutory right.
Request refunds through Paddle (billing portal, receipt email, or paddle.net). The TermPilot feedback page handles product issues only and cannot process refunds; refunds are adjudicated by Paddle as merchant of record.
6. Acceptable use
Do not use the service to process content you have no right to process, to infringe others rights, for unlawful purposes, or to build competing corpora or models by bulk extraction.
Do not attempt to circumvent usage limits, share accounts at scale, resell access, or interfere with the service operation or its measurement systems.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, with Credits adjustment where the violation involves farmed or misused allowances.
7. Content and data
You retain all rights to the content you read, translate, annotate, and export. We claim no ownership over it.
In official Credits mode, task content is processed transiently to produce the result and is not persisted as prompt or response content. Direct mode content never reaches our servers. See the Privacy Policy for details.
8. Availability and changes
We aim for reliable availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. Features, quotas, and prices offered for future purchases may change. The price and included Credits will not change during a paid billing period. We will give reasonable notice of a material change before the affected renewal, and you may cancel before it takes effect.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, the service is provided "as is" without implied warranties. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for fraud, willful misconduct, gross negligence, death or personal injury, or mandatory consumer rights. For other claims, liability is limited to foreseeable direct loss and the amount you paid in the twelve months before the claim, unless applicable law requires a greater remedy.
9. Governing law and contact
TermPilot is the brand of an independent individual operator (sole proprietor) who provides this service, reachable at xiexuanzheng602@gmail.com. These terms are governed by the laws of the People's Republic of China, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protection rights in your country of residence.
